2015 Yeringberg Cabernets
A Superb Bordeaux styled blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec. Superb black as night colour with a deep bright dark red black tinged hue. Perfumed top notes of blackcurrant laced with bay leaf seamlessly integrate into vanillin cedar, hints of tobacco, mulberry and spice. Decorated with richness yet at the same time showing elegance and great poise the medium bodied palate is filled with generous blackcurrant and subtle liquorice flavours which overlap a back drop of delicate bay leaf infusions, spicy cedar, tobacco and faint earthy fresh herbs. Very polished, perfectly integrated tannins. Outstanding length concluding with a long blackcurrant, subtle liquorice, bay leaf, vanillin cedar, a touch of tobacco, spice and light earth. Will only get better with bottle age.

Other Reviews….
The wine has presence, charm and elegance in equal measure. A blend of cabernet sauvignon 66%, cabernet franc 13% with splashes of merlot, petit verdot and malbec, all of which has created a medium-bodied wine. Expect a mix of red berries and leafy freshness, some menthol and spice with super fine tannins and excellent length. It's a contemplative wine to savour. Drink by 2038.

From a ripe and approachable vintage with plenty of depth, this 2015 Yeringberg is a showpiece of great Bordeaux-esque style. Aromas of blackcurrants, red plums, red cherries and red flowers are augmented by the lightly leafy and earthy cabernet characters. The palate delivers a very fleshy, silky and powerful array of ripe red cherries, plums and blueberries in a silky, concentrated guise. This accomplished blend of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, petit verdot and malbec is in stunning form. Drink now or hold.

66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% cabernet franc, 8% merlot, 8% petit verdot, 5% Malbec. Up to three weeks on skins, 25% new oak, 18 months in barrel. 495 dozen made. Bottled in October 2016.
At the intersection of flavour and finesse, beauty is to be found. This is an elegant, fine-fingered wine with juicy boysenberry, ripe blackcurrant, bay leaf and clove notes shimmering throughout, whispers of creamy, resiny, cedarwood oak having just-enough influence without going too far. Tannin is ripe, fine-fingered, exquisite. If you look closely you see grass, dry tobacco and peppercorn notes. It’s quite a treat. Drink 2022-2031+
