2015 Woodlands Wilyabrup Valley Cabernet Merlot

Refined and elegantly built with an understated richness to the fruit.

This wine is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% with maturation taking place in French oak barrels for 14 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a vibrant dark red hue. Elevated aromas of blackcurrant and mulberry are overlaid by dusty cedar with hints of cigar box, black olive and spice following on. Medium bodied with an elegant feel, there’s an understated richness to the red currant, blackcurrant and mulberry fruit which is underpinned by dusty cedar, tobacco and spice. Dryish finish with fine grained, structured tannins. Excellent length with a long red and blackcurrant, mulberry, cedary tobacco characters and spice aftertaste.
