2015 Woodlands Emily

A blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon matured in French oak for 12 months. Excellent depth of colour featuring a totally opaque black dark purple core with a deep bright purple red hue. Perfumed scents of violets intermixed with red currants and mulberries blossom from the glass followed by infusions of bay leaf, subtle cedary tobacco characters and spicy dried herbs. Very classy, the palate is the epitomy of elegance and finesse displaying ripe red currant and mulberry flavours over cedary tobacco characters and traces of bay leaf finishing dry and spicy. Super refined tannins and balanced acidity provide a great framework to this very elegant blend. Excellent length with a long aftertaste of ripe red currants and mulberries infused with cedary tobacco characters, subtle bay leaf and spice.
