2015 William Downie Yarra Valley Pinot Noir

Opaque dark red black tinged colour, slightly hazy, with a dark crimson red hue. Red and sour cherry top notes meld into some earthy dried meat scents with subtle anise, stemmy cedar and spice following on. Light in weight but with good richness the palate features flavours of spicy dark cherries alongside sour cherries with underlying stemmy cedar, a light meatiness and spice. Bright finish with very fine grained, perfectly integrated tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of ripe red cherries, some sour cherries, stemmy cedar and spice.
