2015 William Downie Gippsland Pinot Noir

Deep cloudy dark red colour with a light red hue. Fragrant aromas of ripe red cherries and strawberries are laced with faint anise followed by stemmy cedar, some meatiness and spice. Whilst light in weight this is again the richest and most powerful of the William Downie trio featuring an elegant supple texture with mouthfilling flavours of ripe red cherries, fresh plums and strawberries over a backdrop of stemmy cedar, faint clove and spice. Excellent power wave with velvet smooth tannins and a bright fresh finish. Long conclusion of ripe red cherries, strawberries, fresh plums, a subtle meatiness and spicy cedar.
