2015 Vinelea Shiraz

Impenetrable inky black core with a deep very dark purple black tinged hue. Pronounced liquorice and ripe black cherry aromas meld into smoky vanillin cedar, hints of dried clove, dried meats and pepper. Full bodied and possessing excellent richness with juicy ripe black cherry and liquorice flavours to the fore, prominent toasty vanillin oak then moves in overtaking the back palate with dried meats and pepper also evident. Ripe chewy tannins. Toasty oak lingers on the finish and aftertaste with ripe black cherries, liquorice, dried meats and pepper also chipping in. The toasty oak component is much more prominent in this wine than previous vintages and whether or not it has the richness to handle it will be down to the individual taster.
