2015 Thorn Clarke Shotfire Shiraz

Excellent depth of colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. Intense liquorice and black cherry aromas are overlaid by toasty oak with following blackpepper notes. Rich and full bodied with initial luscious blackberry and liquorice flavours overwhelmed by a wallop of toasty oak which lingers long into the aftertaste. Some blackpepper also chimes in. Opulent mouthfeel with velvet smooth tannins. Aftertaste of toasty oak, black fruits and pepper. The strong toasty oak component will be too much for many.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
