2015 Sutherland Estate Daniel Hill's Vineyard Tempranillo

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. The nose exhibits ripe black cherry and liquorice top notes which intermingle with scorched earth, suggestions of dried meats and spice. Medium bodied and slightly chewy the palate has flavours of black cherries and a touch of liquorice over earthy cedar, some meatiness and spice. Dry finish with sturdy, powdery tannins and an aftertaste of spicy black cherries, scorched earth and dried meats.
Cellar 4-5 years.

Tempranillo should do very well in the cool Yarra Valley climate, and this certainly has; a lovely assemblage of cherries for DIY tastings; balance and length. Drink by 2020.
