2015 She-Oak Hill Estate Heathcote Shiraz

Sourced from 39 year old vines with maturation taking place in French oak barriques for 16 months. Impenetrable inky black colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Intense ripe blackberry, liquorice and black cherry aromas rise out of the glass with some toasty vanillin oak, peppered earth and leather notes also evident. Rich, lush blackberry, liquorice and black cherry fruits swamp the opulent, full bodied palate. A ripe, chewy tannin structure imparts some firmness to the back half with scorched earth, vanillin oak and blackpepper characters lingering underneath. Long, generous yet robust finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

Dark berries, choc-cherry, whiffs of liquorice, fennel and faint mint. Really nice concentration, glide but also a sheath of fine, dusty tannins, exceptional length, depth, but also freshness. A very serious feeling wine, refined, elegant, just enough funk. I am all about this.
