A 100% Merlot. Totally opaque black dark red core with a very dark red hue. Lifted aromas of blackcurrant mix with hints of black cherry, black olive, earthy graphite like notes and spicy cedar. Medium to full bodied, rich blackcurrant fruits dominate the palate with some black cherry and liquorice also evident. A sturdy backbone of firm tannins imparts a sense of chewiness onto the mouth feel. Elements of earth, graphite and toasty cedar ensue. Excellent drive with a lengthy finish that has accents of scorched earth and spicy black olive to it. A ripe modern take on Bordeaux.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
