2015 Reillys R Shiraz

Laced with blackpepper this rich, succulent Clare Valley Shiraz boasts outstanding weight and power for its price point.

Produced from a blend of the best fruit off the 15 year old St Clare vineyard and a parcel of fruit from the 1919 Home Block this Shiraz was matured in French oak for 18 months. Totally opaque inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. Lifted aromatics of ripe blackberries, black cherries and liquorice sit atop vanillin cedar with blackpepper end notes. Boasting superb richness, succulent ripe black cherry, blackberry and liquorice flavours teem across the weighty palate with an undercurrent of spicy vanillin cedar and blackpepper. Showing excellent length and power the luscious fruit is wrapped up in an opulent yet structured mouthfeel. Slightly chewy yet ripe tannins with a long spicy conclusion of ripe black cherries, blackberries, liquorice, vanillin cedar and pepper. Great value.
