Matured in French oak hogsheads for 18 months. Impenetrable midnight black in colour with a deep black dark red hue. Notes of aniseed, black cherries and liquorice sing from the glass followed by toasty vanillin oak, scorched earth, fennel and blackpepper. Rich opulent flavours of aniseed, black cherries and liquorice are backed by toasty vanillin oak, earthy fennel and spicy pepper characters. The plush feel of the fruit is counterpointed by a sturdy framework of tannins. Excellent power finishing with a long decadent aftertaste.
