2015 Paul Conti Pinot Noir
Semi translucent dark red to brick red colour with a light brick red hue. Aromas of stewed cherries and liquorice are overlaid by smoky clove like characters with earth, spice and traces of emerging varnish following on. Soft and supple in the mouth the medium weight palate has flavours of dark cherries overlaid by strong vanillin cedar, earth and spicy dried herbs. Silky smooth tannins. Long aftertaste of spicy ripe cherries, earthy vanillin cedar and dried herbs.

MV6, hand-picked, 30% whole bunches, wild-fermented, 9 days fermentation include 2 days cold soak, matured in French oak (10% new) for 10 months. Deeply coloured, and (in pinot terms) full-bodied, it is just embarking on what will be a long journey to maturity when it will garner even more points. Drink by 2028.
