2015 Moss Wood Ribbon Vale Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Merlot. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red black tinged hue. A little reticent at first the nose opens up with some airing to reveal elevated blackcurrant and liquorice aromas which meld into elements of bay leaf, light toasty cedar, faint tobacco and spice. Rich, yet refined and focused the palate is decorated with ripe blackcurrant, subtle black cherry and liquorice flavours which sit over a back drop of lightly toasted vanillin cedar, traces of bay leaf, black olive and spice. The intense powerful fruit shows great varietal purity. Finely grained seamlessly integrated tannins. Excellent concentration and length with a long blackcurrant, subtle liquorice, vanillin cedar, subtle bay leaf, earth and spice aftertaste.
