2015 Menhir Salento Quota 29 Primitivo

Also known as Zinfandel, Primitivo is well suited to the region of Puglia, one of Italy’s warmest, most southerly regions. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a bright dark red hue. Pronounced black plum, Morello cherry and liquorice aromas intermix with hints of dried cherry, light earth and spicy herbs. Rich with a chewy mouthfeel flavours of ripe Morello cherries and liquorice intermix with raisiny dried cherry characters over a back drop of dried herbs and spice. Slightly firmish tannins add interest to the textural feel. Aftertaste of ripe Morello cherries, liquorice, dried cherries, subtle raisiny elements and spicy dried herbs.
