2015 Le Baron de Malleret

Totally opaque midnight black dark red core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Prominent ripe blackcurrant, black cherry and more subtle liquorice aromas are shaded by some scorched earth, lightly toasted cedar and spice notes. Rich blackcurrant flavours move across the medium to full bodied palate as the dominant force underscored by notions of liquorice scorched earth and spice with a fair dose of toasty oak moving in on the finish. The tannins have a firm grainy feel but are largely concealed by the volume of fruit. Aftertaste of spicy ripe blackcurrant, touches of liquorice, scorched earth, black olives and toasty cedar. A richer, fuller style of Bordeaux.
