2015 Kilikanoon Oracle Shiraz

Midnight black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced liquorice top notes lead into aromas of dark plum and blackberry with ensuing vanillin cedar, subtle dark chocolate, fennel and spicy mocha. Rich and velvety throughout, the palate is awash with opulently textured dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruit. Subtlety smoked vanillin oak, earthy fennel characters and spice sit beneath. Very well integrated and smooth tannins concluding with a long powerful finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

From plots of low yielding estate vineyards on the Golden Hillsides separately vinified and matured in new and 1yo French hogsheads. A full-bodied shiraz, fruit, oak and tannins all making obvious contributions. It needs a few more years, but it has the essential balance. Drink by 2045.
