2015 Kilikanoon Mort's Reserve Riesling
Brilliant water like colour with a light but distinctive greenish tinge around the outskirts. Intense lime and citrus aromas kissed with a hint of toast and some light kerosene characters drift from the glass over some steeliness and spice end notes. Built for the long haul with a tightly knit core of lemon and lime mineral infused flavours wrapped around a steely spine. Nuances of toast, light kerosene and some flintiness make an appearance on the back palate. Dry finish with very crisp acidity. Excellent length with a long mineral infused aftertaste of lemon, lime, wet steel, light toast and spicy kerosene.
Cellar 8-10 years.
Alc. 12.5%
Other Reviews…
Hand-picked from the Khileyre and Mort's Block Vineyards. Takes up where the worthy Killerman's Run Riesling leaves off; the floral bouquet leads into a torrent of lemon, lime and grapefruit flavours bound together by natural acidity on the exceptionally long palate and aftertaste. Drink by 2035.
