2015 Katnook Estate Prodigy Shiraz

Matured for 36 months in a combination of French (61%) and American (39%) barriques and hogshead oak barrels. Impenetrable black as night core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Potent ripe blackberry and liquorice aromas waft through the olfactory senses trailed by choc mint, prominent vanillin oak, earth and spicy mocha. Dense, rich and opulent, lavish dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits are overlaid with lashings of vanillin oak. Notions of choc mint, light earth and spice trailing away into the distance. Finishes with good freshness, a well built tannin structure and a long vanillin oak dominated aftertaste.
