Certified Organic Kalleske’s Greenock Shiraz is a single vineyard wine produced from low yielding Shiraz vines on the Kalleske estate at Greenock, in the North-Western Barossa Valley. Cuttings for these vines originate from a vineyard planted on the property in the late 1800s. Maturation takes place in a combination of American and French oak hogsheads (30% new) for a period of 16 months.

A rich, powerful Shiraz drenched in opulent black fruits that will be adored by lovers of classic bold Barossa Shiraz.

Impenetrable black core with a deep dark red black hue. Intense aromatics of liquorice, dark plum and ripe blackberries waft from the glass followed by infusions of vanillin cedar, mocha and spice. Seriously rich and dense the plushly textured palate delivers a voluptuous flavour profile of liquorice, juicy ripe blackberries and dark plum over a backdrop of vanillin oak, a hint of mocha and spicy pepper. Seamlessly integrated yet structured tannins appear velvet like beneath the saturation of flamboyant fruit. Outstanding concentration with a long sumptuous aftertaste of liquorice, ripe blackberries, dark chocolate, dark plums, vanillin oak and spice. Whilst dangerously drinkable now this brilliantly made Barossa Shiraz will also cellar a further 6-8 years.
Alc 14.5%

Other Reviews….
If this wine had the word Penfolds on the front label it would be sold at three times the price. If you like Barossa shiraz, Kalleske Greenock Shiraz should sit in the centre of your sights.
Another stunner under this label. So smooth, so rich, so grunty, so substantial. It’s a wine of warm, inky depths and long, fruit-drenched tannin. Vanilla cream, blackberry, saturated plums and cloves. A mouth-filling red, done terrifically well.
