2015 Kaesler Old Bastard Shiraz

Sourced from Shiraz vines planted in 1893. Impenetrable pitch black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Intense blackberry, liquorice and black cherry aromas overlay smoky vanillin cedar, traces of dried meats and blackpepper. Rich and concentrated, mouthfilling flavours of ripe black cherries, liquorice and blackberries stain the full bodied palate. Opulent mouthfeel with nuances of toasty vanillin cedar, scorched earth and blackpepper following up on the rear. There’s a sense of velvetiness to the sturdily constructed tannins. Excellent power with a long spicy black cherry, liquorice, blackberry, toasty vanillin cedar, scorched earth and blackpepper aftertaste.
