Matured for 40 months in new French oak hogsheads. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep very dark red black tinged hue. Lifted aromas of ripe blackcurrant and liquorice meet up with vanillin cedar, dusty earth, subtle mocha and spice notes. Rich, velvety textured flavours of cassis, dark chocolate and liquorice meld into toasty vanillin oak, earth and spicy mocha. Excellent power with silky tannins and a medium to long aftertaste that has traces of leather emerging on it.
