Produced from the Italian grape variety Aglianico and matured for 12 months in seasoned French oak this wine displays some similar traits to Amarone.
Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red black tinged hue. Nosing yields aromas of dried cherries and dark plum laced with dried herbs over earthy cedar and spice. Filled with a combination of rich luscious dark and dried fruits including dried cherries, black plum and traces of liquorice, there’s an underlying firmness to the tannin structure. Dried herb infusions, earthy cedar and spice ensue. Dry chewy finish with a long aftertaste of dried cherries, black plums, subtle liquorice, old cedar and spicy dried herbs.
