2015 Harewood Estate F Block Pinot Noir

This Pinot Noir has been produced from Harewood Estate’s F-block. This block has been planted with a selection of the “Dijon” clones, which are part of a small group of unique clones that were identified, isolated and propagated by Dijon University researcher Dr Raymond Bernard from the best performing, highest pedigree Pinot vineyards in Burgundy – clones 114, 115, and 777. The clones have been attributed with producing wines of excellent aroma, structure, intensity and balance.

The wine was matured in a mix of new and older French oak barriques for 18 months. Semi translucent bright dark red colour with a light crimson hue. Fragrant spicy dark cherry aromas intermix with strawberry and dried meat characters over some sappy, lightly toasted cedar end notes. Deliciously rich and supple in texture the palate sports a very savoury flavour profile of ripe dark cherries and strawberries subtlety infused with clove over a background of dried meats and spicy lightly toasted cedar. Silky smooth tannins. Excellent power wave with a long conclusion of spicy ripe dark cherries, strawberries, subtle clove infusions, some meatiness and spicy cedar.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
