2015 Gibson Discovery Road Il Minestrone

A blend of 30% Grenache, 29% Shiraz, 28% Merlot, 4% Primitivo, 5% Tempranillo and 3% Montepulciano matured for 16 months in hogsheads. Opaque dark red black colour with a dark red black tinged hue. Rising from the glass are lifted aromas of black raspberry, dark plum and liquorice with elements of lightly scorched earth, dried herbs and spice also evident. Delicious flavours of ripe black cherries, liquorice and dark plums are wrapped up in a juicy textural feel with earthy dried herb nuances also present. Finishes with plenty of spice. Velvety tannins enhancing the fleshy mouthfeel. Concludes with spicy black raspberries, black cherries, liquorice and earthy dried herbs.
