A blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a rustic red hue. Elevated black raspberry, black plum and kirsch scents intermix with liquorice, earthy incense notes, dried meats and spice. Rich and very concentrated, lavish spicy dark to black raspberry flavours intermixed with kirsch and liquorice flood the mouth over scorched earth, dried herbs and pepper. Some slight heat shades the finish with ripe chewy tannins and a long powerful aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews…..
A blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre, the 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Piedlong is gorgeous, and I’d certainly be happy to drink a bottle. Blackcurrants, kirsch, seaweed, tapenade, and shitake notes all flow to a ripe, supple, sexy red that has fine tannin, solid depth, and a great finish. It shows the elegant style of the vintage and will keep for 10-15 years.
