Matured in some new but predominately older French and American oak barriques for 18 months.
Fantastic colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. An intense bouquet of liquorice, dark plum and blueberry wafts from the glass followed by infusions of fennel, lightly smoked vanillin cedar and hints of spicy pepper. Rich and juicy in its textural feel the palate shows more youthful freshness than the 2014 dishing up sumptuous flavours of dark plums and ripe blueberries which overlay some liquorice, vanillin cedar and spice. Lively finish with velvet smooth tannins and a medium to long aftertaste of spicy dark plums, ripe blueberries, liquorice and vanillin cedar.
