2015 Cascina Luisin Paolin Barbaresco

Dark red colour with black tinged edges and a brick red hue. Nosing reveals subtle rose petal notes followed by a mix of dried cherries and strawberries, earth, dried herbs, tobacco and spice. Medium bodied with dried cherry and raspberry fruits to the fore, elements of scorched earth, dried herbs, tobacco and spice ensue. Finishes dry with slightly austere tannins and bright acidity imparting grip. A stern medium length aftertaste sees some leather characters emerge.
