2015 Boekenhoutskloof Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc with maturation taking place in French oak barriques. Dense black dark red heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Intense blackcurrant and liquorice aromas jump out of the glass trailed by some ripe mulberry, vanillin cedar, tobacco, spicy dried herb and earthy black olive notes. Rich opulent blackcurrant, liquorice and mulberry fruits are supported by a sturdy tannin structure which imparts a ripe chewy feel. Cedary tobacco, dried herb, earthy black olive and spice characters linger in the background. Excellent concentration and depth finishing a touch dryish with some leather characters emerging through the aftertaste.
