Sourced from the 35 year old Uley vineyard in the Piccadilly Valley of the Adelaide Hills, 2015 was a season of low cropping but exceptional quality.

Semi translucent dark red core with a light crimson red hue. A fragrant bouquet of violets, ripe dark cherries, strawberries and anise fills the nostrils over lightly toasted oak and spice. Delicious ripe dark cherry and strawberry flavours laced with anise flood the mouth over a back drop of lightly earthed toasted cedar and spice. Supple and very moreish with velvet smooth tannins. Excellent power wave with a long spicy ripe dark cherry, strawberry, anise, toasty cedar and subtle earth aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews…
32yo vines, mainly D4V2 and D5V12, destemmed, 35% whole bunches, open-fermented, cultured yeast added after 5 days cold soak, 12 days on skins in total, blended after fermentation, matured in French barriques (22% new) for 10 months. The highly fragrant and flowery bouquet is a Siamese twin with the lively, juicy palate, complexity and length from the whole bunch component. A seductive wine that grew and grew on retasting. Drink by 2027.
