2014 Yabby Lake Single Vineyard Syrah

Superb colour displaying an inky black dark red core with a deep bright dark red black tinged hue. Perfumed aromatics of liquorice, violets and fresh blackberries flow from the glass followed by some lightly smoked vanillin cedar, a touch of meatiness and blackpepper. Rich and concentrated, yet elegant and supple, mouthfilling flavours of freshly crushed blackberries and liquorice glide gracefully across the palate over a background of smoky vanillin cedar, some meatiness and blackpepper. Very fine grained tannins are perfectly interwoven with the fruit. Excellent length with a long peppery aftertaste of fresh blackberries, liquorice, spicy smoky vanillin cedar and some meaty characters. Still young and fresh this should evolve beautifully in the bottle.
