2014 Willow Bridge Estate Gravel Pit Shiraz

A small amount of Grenache and Mataro have been blended in with the Shiraz fruit. Maturation took place in French oak (20% new).
Totally opaque inky black colour with a bright crimson red black tinged hue. Scents of liquorice and blackberries are intermixed with dried meats, earth, vanillin cedar and blackpepper. Full bodied with a rich inky mouthfeel the palate has flavours of ripe blackberries and liquorice over some vanillin cedar, earth, meaty characters and spicy pepper. Sturdy tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberries, earthy vanillin cedar, dried meats and blackpepper. A rich, meaty Shiraz.
