2014 Water Wheel Shiraz

The 2014 marks the 40th vintage of Water Wheel Shiraz. Impenetrable inky black colour with a deep dark purple black tinged hue. Plum, liquorice and blackberry liqueur like scents abound on the nose with vanillin confectionary and light spicy oak following on. Plump and juicy the palate dishes up a rich succulent flavour profile of liquorice, dark plums and freshly crushed blackberries over a back drop of spicy vanillin oak with some pepper on the finish. Very fine grained velvet like tannins with a long aftertaste of liquorice, dark plum, crushed blackberries, lightly toasted vanillin oak and pepper.
