2014 Valiente Heathcote Syrah

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a very dark red hue. Pronounced aniseed and dark plum aromas intermix with toasty vanillin oak, fennel and black pepper. The fruit is just hanging in there with aniseed and plum fruits to the fore. Earthy leather, old cedar and peppered meat like characters linger on the finish. Bright acids with sinewy tannins and a medium length aftertaste.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
