2014 The Story Wines Grampians Shiraz

Matured in older French barriques and puncheons for 12 months with 40% whole bunch fermentation and wild ferments employed.
Totally opaque black dark red colour with a bright very dark red hue. Scented aromas of liquorice, dark plums and spearmint are followed by vanillin cedar with light spicy pepper end notes. Medium bodied with good richness and an elegant refined mouthfeel the palate has flavours of liquorice, blackberries and a touch of spearmint with a background of vanillin cedar and spicy pepper. Very fine grained well integrated tannins along with lively acidity give the wine a bright finish and provide the structure. Aftertaste of dark cherries, liquorice, subtle spearmint and spicy vanillin cedar and pepper.
