Glenallachie have emerged with new energy since industry legend, Billy Walker took the helm in 2018. It's a distillate that's hugely flavoursome. Add sherry barrels to the mix and you're in for one of Speyside's biggest whisky experiences - "Andre the giant’ big", as one indie bottler described them. Indeed, possibly only Glenallachie (and a handful of others) could pull off a sherried whisky that tastes about as good as an eleven year old could possibly get. 

Single Cask #696 was drawn from a Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry puncheon in 2025 yielding 356 bottles at a natural strength. It's one of two single casks imported direct from the distillery, so no wholesaler margins are in the equation - hence the remarkable pricing (normally this would be closer to $250 in Australia). Relationships with distilleries can be fickle, which means the next single cask offering could be via an 'official importer' (read much higher prices). Notes from the producers...  lashings of molasses, muscovado sugar and dark chocolate. Brandy-soaked plums and spiced orange come through with a signature heather honey and mocha note, lingering on a distinctly savoury hint of black truffle to finish.
