Matured in a combination of seasoned French and American oak for 15 months. Opaque dark red black colour with a very dark red hue. The nose displays stewed plum and liquorice aromas which are overlaid by varnishy scents and spicy vanillin oak. Big rich plummy palate with liquorice and stewy characters also present over a background of spicy vanillin oak. Finishes with some prickly acidity and firmly built tannins. Plummy aftertaste of liquorice, stewed fruits and spicy vanillin oak.
