2014 Rockbare Barossa Babe Shiraz

Matured in French and American oak hogsheads the wine displays a totally opaque inky black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced aromas of black cherries and liquorice are mixed in with some dried meat characters followed by vanillin cedar and blackpepper. Very rich and big in the mouth yet showing more structure and a touch more restraint than previous vintages the palate features a concentrated flavour profile of black cherries, blackberries and liquorice which dominates over background nuances of vanillin cedar, a touch of meatiness and pepper. The fine grained tannins have a muscular feel and impart some grip on the finish. Long aftertaste of ripe black cherries, liquorice, blackberries, spicy vanillin oak and peppered dried meats.
