Totally opaque black dark purple colour with a deep very dark purple hue. Nosing results in aromas of liquorice and blackberries overlaid by some toasty vanillin oak, a touch of mocha and spice. Medium bodied this is a relatively elegant and soft rendition of Heathcote Shiraz with flavours of blackberries and liquorice intermixed with spicy vanillin oak. Finely textured, velvet like tannins with an aftertaste of blackberries, liquorice and spicy vanillin oak.
