2014 Robert Oatley GSM

Robert Oatley released the first GSM branded wine in the 1990’s under the Rosemount label and created renewed interest in this Rhone styled blend. Today Robert Oatley wines employs the winemaking talents of Larry Cherubino to showcase Australia’s most successful wine styles and regions. This GSM is composed of 50% Grenache, 45% Shiraz & 5% Mourvedre with maturation taking place in French oak for 9 months. Opaque bright dark red black colour with a dark crimson red hue. Fragrant aromas of raspberries, plum and liquorice emanate from the glass with vanillin confectionary and a hint of spice as an end note. The palate possesses good richness and has a medium body weight with flavours of liquorice, red cherries, dark raspberries, incense infusions and spice. Fine grained yet sturdy tannin structure. Excellent length with a long finish of liquorice, red cherries, raspberries, incense infusions, faint scorched earth and spice.
