2014 Poonawatta The Cuttings Shiraz

Slightly hazy opaque dark red black colour with the hue beginning to move from dark to brick red. The nose offers up dark plum and liquorice aromas which are shaded by stemmy dried herb and smoky cedar followed by some blackpepper notes. Medium to full in body with ample richness and a velvety mouthfeel the spicy dark plum and liquorice fruit is tempered by some dried herb characters which tend to dry out the finish a touch. Also evident is smoky cedar, some meatiness and pepper. Very polished tannins. Concludes with a medium to long aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
