Nyetimber are at the forefront of premium sparkling wine production in England, and are widely considered the finest producer in the country. For over 30 years the Nyetimber team have been driven to create a wine to rival the best sparking wines in the world, and have built up an impressive track record matching this intent. Using only estate grown fruit, their plantings of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier are located on the chalk and Greensand soils of West Sussex, Hampshire and Kent. Given their northerly location, the long slow growing seasons are well suited to premium sparkling production.

2014 was an outstanding year for Nyetimber, and this vintage Blanc de Blancs shows impressive tension and chalk soil driven focus that will challenge many similarly styled wines from across the English Channel.

Other Reviews....
The 2014 Blanc de Blancs was bottled in March 2015 and disgorged in March 2020 and is due to hit the market in 2021. There is a touch more red fruit here, hints of white strawberries joining the defined honeysuckle and yellow plum scents. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh, and quite linear, as a Blanc de Blancs should be, with a little more salinity coming through on the pear and greengage finish compared to the 2013. Drink 2021 - 2034.

Neal Martin - Antonio Galloni's Vinous (August 2020)

A generally warm vintage led to ripe but elegant fruits. The Blanc de Blancs spent four years on its lees, featuring savoury biscuits, orange blossom and a hint of acacia honey on the nose, with an undertone of citrus freshness and peach. Saline and buttery on the palate, with white pepper and lively citrus tickling the tip of the tongue. The acidity sits at 7.7g/l, balanced by 9.5 g/l of residual sugar. Red apple peel bitterness and brioche linger on. Drink 2021 - 2026.
