2014 North Star Glen Garioch 8 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Originally producing a peated Highland style, Glen Garioch was mothballed (again) in 1995 to be re-launched in 1997 in unpeated form. Currently owned by American giant, Beam-Suntory, the label has a small but loyal following in Australia. One of the smaller releases in North Star's latest batch is this youngster yielding 260 bottles from a refill hogshead, finished with oloroso. 53.3% Alc./Vol. Non-chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... Nose: Brown sugar, porridge with blueberries. Palate: Cherry, apples. Finish: Grilled citrus fruit.
