2014 Napa Cellars Napa Valley Pinot Noir

Matured in 31% new French oak. Opaque dark red black colour with a dark red hue. Very ripe black cherry, dark plum and strawberry jam aromas intermix with earth, vanillin oak and traces of leather. Rich and jammy, the weighty palate has black cherry, black plum jam, cola and liquorice flavours over toasty vanillin oak, earth, leather and spice nuances. There’s some heat on the finish and it appears to be drying out. Firmish tannins with a medium length black and dried fruit aftertaste. A hefty, over ripe Pinot.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
