Deep dark red black tinged colour with a purple red hue. Aromas of dark cherries and liquorice are overlaid by spicy clove and smoky cedar with pepper end notes. Medium weighted the palate has a supplely textured mouthfeel and features flavours of dark cherries and liquorice mixed in with some meaty characters, smoky vanillin cedar and spice. Soft finely grained tannins. Aftertaste of dark cherries, subtle liquorice, smoky vanillin cedar and spice. The smoky oak is a touch too prominent.
