2014 Hill Smith Estate Eden Valley Chardonnay

Produced with natural wild yeast ferment and 11 months maturation in fine grained French oak barriques. Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Aromas of delicate white peaches are intermeshed with dried honey, nectarine and flinty struck match stick characters followed by some light nougat end notes. Lighter in weight and texture than the 2013 the palate has a fresh elegant feel with flavours of delicate white peach, nectarine, subtle dried honey and flinty struck match stick characters with a hint of cashew on the dry finish. Aftertaste of delicate white peaches, flinty matchstick characters and cashew.
