2014 Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard Brooks Road Shiraz

Dense inky black colour with a deep dark red black hue. Powering out of the glass are potent aromas of blackberry, liquorice, black cherry and dark plums which seamlessly integrate with lightly smoked vanillin cedar, fennel, subtle scorched earth and pepper. Rich blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits engulf the mouth underpinned by vanillin cedar, scorched earth, traces of black olive, fennel and blackpepper. Firmly built tannins provide plenty of structure and lead into a long yet stern aftertaste.

Deep crimson-purple; a very complex wine, all the components handled with the skill of a circus juggler, keeping all in the air. Its extreme fragrance and intensity on the palate have a lightness to their touch, with spiced red and black fruits, licorice and fine tannins, oak the (almost) unseen hand. Drink by 2039.
