2014 Heartland Shiraz
Ben Glaetzer’s Heartland range of wines always deliver great value. The 2014 vintage was matured in a combination of French and American oak barrels (new to 4 year old) for a period of 14 months.
Totally opaque inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. Pronounced aromatics of liquorice and blackberries intermixed with hints of black cherries overlay subtlety toasted vanillin oak and blackpepper. Full bodied the palates opulent fruit is supported by a sturdy structure. Rich blackberry, black cherry and liquorice flavours fill the mouth with underlying toasty vanillin oak and a blackpepper infused finish. Solidly built tannins firm up the finish and give some grip to the otherwise opulent mouthfeel. Long spicy ripe blackberry, liquorice, toasty vanillin oak and pepper aftertaste.
