2014 Fraser Gallop Estate Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon
Fraser Gallop’s Parterre Cabernet takes its inspiration from some of the great wines of Bordeaux, displaying their finesse and structure whilst still allowing the Margaret River fruit to shine through. The 2014 is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 2% Merlot, 2% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Franc matured in a combination of new (33%) and second use French oak for 18 months.
A stylish Bordeaux blend that exudes finesse and class.
Totally opaque black dark red core with a dark red hue. Showing both refinement and great elevation the nose displays ripe red to black currant and mulberry scents tinged with a hint of violets followed by subtle infusions of bay leaf, cedary tobacco characters and spicy dried herb notes. Medium bodied with excellent richness yet a very elegant feel, this superb Margaret River Cabernets is all class. Generous spicy red to blackcurrant and mulberry flavours overlay well integrated vanillin cedar, tobacco characters, infusions of dried herbs and faint earthy black olive elements. Very refined tannins seamlessly integrate with the fruit. Marvellous length with a long aftertaste of spicy ripe red currants, mulberries, earthy cedar, cigar box and dried herbs.
Cellar 6-8 years.

Other Reviews….
Predominantly cabernet, but the rest of the Bordeaux varieties are in there as well. It adds up to a complex and complete wine of supreme elegance and refinement. Balanced and poised, striking the perfect balance of oak and tannin to harness the medium-bodied fruit. Lovely wine for medium-term cellaring.
