2014 Elderton Western Ridge Grenache Carignan

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark crimson red hue. The nose is scented with ripe raspberry, plum and subtle liquorice overtones followed by vanillin cedar and hints of earthy mineral. Medium weight and supplely textured the palate features concentrated dark raspberry and dark cherry flavours with infusions of liquorice also present over some earthy incense, vanillin cedar and spice nuances. The tannins velvety but structured. Has power without excess weight delivering excellent length. Long conclusion of spicy dark raspberries, subtle liquorice, earthy incense and vanillin cedar. A rich, deliciously savoury Grenache blend.
